  • FOR WHEN ONE BATCH BREW ISN'T ENOUGH

Entirely redesigned for heat retention and a smooth pour, the Ratio Six Thermal Carafe and Lid (Series 2) offers a clean aesthetic and very simple operation.

This carafe holds high temperatures (above 60°C/140°F) for 3 hours and has no moving parts. The spout is more pronounced, leading to a better pour of your favourite coffee. The opening of the carafe is large enough to fit your hand inside for a thorough cleaning, and it mates perfectly with the original Ratio Six Series 1 filter basket.

Designed to keep your coffee HOT for several hours, the Ratio Six Thermal Carafe and Lid (Series 2) is designed to be used with either Series 1 or Series 2 of the Ratio Six coffee maker but can also be used as a stand-alone thermal vessel.

A missed opportunity

I really wanted to love this carafe but it only partly addressed the failings of the original, while creating some new quirks. Pouring is still iffy, pouring the final cup is spilly, and not having the ability to lock the lid leads to premature cooling of the coffee - regardless of what Ratio’s tests say. I love the coffee that this machine produces but I can’t help but think of wasted potential every time I look at it. At this point, I’ve sunk over $600 into my Ratio Six and I’m often left wondering why I didn’t get the Moccamaster instead.
