  • Oscar and Francisca Chacón are the third generation of coffee producers. With all this family expertise, they were among the first in Costa Rica to offer grains using a natural process, but also honey. It was in 2005 that they took full control of their production by purchasing their own pulper. In this way, the entire production is carried out on the farm and a better income is guaranteed to the producers. In 2008, bad luck fell on the farm. An earthquake cuts off electricity and water during the harvest making it impossible to transform it with a washed process, customary at that time in Costa Rica. Never ceasing to innovate, Francisca was inspired by African methods and built drying beds. This is how the natural process makes its appearance in Las Lajas.
