As good as it's reputation would suggest

I have this and a Kinu M47, both of which are exceptional grinders. The Commandante definitely seems to produce less fines and has a bit more consistency at coarser settings, though I tend to agree with the Hoff in that the Kinu is nicer to operate overall. The Commandante is way easier to carry around though and I love it overall. It's perfect for my preferred Tetsu 4:6 pourover method.

Thanks to Eight Ounce for the quick turnaround once stock was available.

Great Grinder!

This grinder always goes out of stock a few days after restocking, and for good reason, it really is an excellent coffee grinder!
It's easy to use, easy to clean, and looks amazing on the counter, and makes my morning coffee so much more enjoyable to make and drink.

If it's sold out, be patient! It's definitely worth the wait.

Love it!!

It has completely changed my coffee game in so many ways. Very happy with the purchase. I was hesitant to really spend 400 dollars on a grinder since I’ve just started my coffee adventure but so glad I did. It makes grinding coffee truly enjoyable, it’s the experience.

So Good!

I’ve been using a porlex for over a year. Nothing bad to say about it. I decided to splurge on the comandante. Simply wow! Night and day difference in coffee.

I'm not sure what I can say about the Comandante that hasn't already been said in the reviews below. The Comandante is definitely a solid grinder - it makes my previous grinder, a Porlex Tall II feel a bit like a toy. The Porlex Tall II was my first grinder and it's good but the Comandante is better. The Comandate is looks nice on my shelf and feels good in my hand to hold. The grind size comes out consistently and grinding feels like it's easier. You still have to do some work to grind your coffee beans but with the Porlex, there were times I felt like the grinder would catch on something and I'd need to apply a little more force to turn it. And maybe it's just my imagination but I feel like the Comandante makes my coffee "pop" - I can actually taste the flavour notes listed on the bag of beans. I should add that my comments are just for pour over coffee, I don't drink espresso. I don't have any cons or bad things to say about this grinder except that there's a bit of static with the grinds and it takes a bit of effort to get the lid off the top of the grinder (I don't want to break it). But other than that, no real complaints so far. Also adding that service from Eight Ounce has been awesome as always!
