Home of the Chemex Poster

by Chemex

The scene is set in Manhattan, circa 1941. Seventy-five years ago at an inventors workshop, located in a building down a narrow alley called “41 Murray St.”; the Chemex was born. The larger tale is one of eccentricity, curiosity, perseverance and invention.

This story inspired the “Home of the Chemex” poster which Chemex lovingly created for the New York Coffee Fest. Due to such high demand for the beautiful piece, they have decided to add it to their collection of merchandise. It features the very first Chemex logo and a vintage drawing of our beloved carafe. The “X” on the subway map marks the spot of Dr. Schlumbohm’s legendary apartment where he designed the iconic Chemex coffeemaker.
