DESCRIPTION

The Gachatha Coffee Factory is situated in the foothills of Mt. Kenya in the Nyeri District, famously known for coffee growing. The rich volcanic soil, high elevation and natural water source from the Kangunu river create the optimal conditions for complex, flavourful coffees. The Gachatha Farmers Co-operative Society maintains the land with a membership of roughly 900 active smallholder farmers. Their reputation is equally impressive and are known for their water conservation methods, protection of indigenous trees, providing some of the highest wages to members and producing some of the highest quality coffees in the region. After cupping many, many coffees at Dormans Coffee exporters last year, we were fortunate to purchase this lot made up of SL28 and SL34 which is just beaming with flavour. Expect intense fruitiness and a juicy mouthfeel that this region and coop are known and admired for. A real treat for lovers of Kenyan coffee!
