More about Thiriku:
As one of our favourite growing regions, Kenya left us anxious this year after so many offerings failed to deliver the clarity, intensity, and structure we've grown to anticipate. Thiriku was a revelation. On the cupping table, red and white currant make good on what we traditionally love while peach and flower deliver a degree of elegance, complexity and suprise. Located in the heart of Nyeri county, the Thiriku factory and cooperative are meticulous in both picking and sorting cherries. Fermentation happens under closed shade lasting 16-24 hours. Drying times are notably prolonged and controlled ensuring even drying and thus stable water activity. Thiriku will be one of two fresh Kenyan releases this season and shoudn't be missed!
