black grape and cherry meet grapefruit and orange, over a backdrop of black tea. Well structured and clean, with a cola like sweetness, it hits all the marks.

About the coffee
At 1,893 masl, nestled amongst the hills of Kayanza in Northern Burundi is the Kibingo Central Washing Station. Kibingo serves 3,515 registered coffee producers, spread over 18 hills in the area. With 10 fermentation tanks, 2 soaking tanks and 165 drying tables, Kibingo can process up to 750,000 kg of coffee cherry per day. The station also participates in a number of initiatives such as providing fertilizer made from composted coffee pulp and offering low-cost, subsidized coffee seedlings. This is an important program because of the small size of coffee plantings in Burundi. Many producers have trees that are over 50 years old, but with small plots to farm, it is difficult to justify taking these trees entirely out of production for the 3-4 years it takes for new plantings to begin to yield.
