Frustrated with the experience of brewing back-to-back shots of espresso with a bottomless portafilter, the team at Basics Machine Shop challenged themselves to design a better alternative to what is available on the market. After several months of prototyping and trying several different approaches, the Espresso Tamping Station is the result.
Made with beautiful dark walnut, the Espresso Tamping Station holds your portafilter in place during distribution and tamping. The carefully designed offset and aircraft-grade, 6061 aluminum base ensure that your portafilter is secure during tamping and that the station will easily hold up to repeated use.
Hand-crafted in beautiful Canmore, Alberta, Basics Machine Shop uses only three materials to manufacture the Espresso Tamping Station; aluminum, brass and walnut. This means every part is either renewable or recyclable, while the walnut top is sealed with an environmentally friendly, non-toxic, oil-based finish.
-
- Materials: Walnut Hardwood, Aircraft-Grade 6061 Aluminum, Brass
- Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth
- Due to the natural variation in wood, each piece will have a varied tone and grain pattern - these are not defects. Each tamping station is truly unique.
-
Use to securely hold your portafilter during distribution and tamping.
