Love the reuseable aspect and not having to go through paper filters every time I use my aeropress. Overall happy with the cloth disk.
Minor disadvantages cap doesn't fit snuggly to press. If I do inverted I'll usually end up with grinds in my cup, but can easily filter out if a coarser grind, and when camping offgrid hard to upkeep & rinse grinds off between usage.
I converted to cloth a while ago for pourover brewing. I love the aeropress as my work brewer. So this is a match made in flavor.
So I have mostly been using the Able Disk filter with my Aeropress (for many years). I like the extra body and the silt I can usually ignore. With finer grinds the metal filter can become harder to press, especially if not completely cleaned from previous use.
Decided to give this a try as another reusable option. So far I am impressed. Nice body, no fines, easy to press. The upkeep hasn't been too much of a chore either. I just make sure to use the spray nozzle in the sink to clean it after each use and then pop it back in a small nalgene jar in the freezer until the next use. When I take it out I pop it in my mug with some hot water while my brew is steeping to get it ready again. Simple. So far I am half and half with this and the Able disk in use.
A good surprise. I store the filter in the fridge or freezer based on James Hoffman's treatment of cloth filters and I'm not getting any musty flavors in my cup.
These produce such a silky mouthfeel - a totally different cup to what I'm used to!
