The KINTO FUTO Half Apron SCO is designed for elegance, function, and simplicity. Crafted from 100% high-density cotton on traditional shuttle loom machines, it's an essential piece for everyday tasks from gardening to cooking, and is perfect for cafés and restaurants seeking a reliable apron with a clean, minimal appearance.

    A Storied Material
Every KINTO FUTO Apron begins in Hamamatsu, Japan on the shuttle loom: a traditional weaving machine that uses a boat-shaped shuttle to slowly carry the yarn back and forth across the warp. It's a process that creates a distinctive texture with both softness and natural firmness.
Moreover, the Futo Apron's fabric is made with around 4000 warp threads, each one carefully threaded by hand through a reed: a process that takes anywhere between two and three days to complete. The shuttle loom is also much slower than its modern, high-speed counterpart, meticulously layering every thread one-by-one to yield a fabric that is soft, airy, and durable.
There were once more than 1600 weaving houses in the Enshu region, but only around 40 remain today. Although the traditional shuttle loom is less efficient, the fabric it produces is irreplaceable. If even one step in the process were to disappear or be forgotten, it could never be woven the same way again.
Fortunately, the latest generation of skilled artisans continue their tireless efforts to preserve the shuttle loom, carrying the craft forward year after year.

    Durable and Soft
Everyday items call for a fine balance of durability and comfort. The KINTO FUTO Half Apron gives you just that and more, with high-density cotton that provides a clean, minimalist style and fits seamlessly into daily life. And when worn, it feels soft against the body while moving comfortably with you.

    Function Meets Simplicity
The KINTO FUTO Apron is designed with a large, front-facing pocket to hold almost anything while keeping it in place. From towels to notebooks and pens, keep everything you need directly by your side.

    One of a Kind
Destined for a lifetime of use, not the landfill, the KINTO FUTO Half Length Apron is embroidered with the FUTO logo to symbolize the slow, traditional process that is required for its making.
