I’ve been using the KDP-800 for a few weeks now and it’s quickly become one of my favourite pieces of coffee gear. The build quality feels excellent. Solid stainless steel, nicely balanced, and surprisingly comfortable to hold even during longer pours.
What really stands out is the precision of the gooseneck spout. It gives a super controlled, steady flow that makes pour overs feel much more consistent and easier to dial in.
I also appreciate the hinged lid design. It’s a small detail, but not having to hold or set down the lid while brewing makes the whole workflow cleaner and more enjoyable. The kettle has a sleek, minimalist look too, so it looks great sitting on the coffee station.
One thing worth noting is that this kettle is meant for pouring only — not direct stove top heating — so you’ll need to transfer water from another kettle. For me that hasn’t been an issue at all, especially because the control and feel are so good.
Absolutely worth it. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice pour over kettle that doesn't break the bank.
The Kalita KDP-800 is easily one of the most well-crafted kettles I’ve used for pour-over coffee. From the moment you pick it up, you can feel the build quality — solid stainless steel construction, sleek brushed finish, and an ergonomic handle that offers excellent control. What really sets it apart is the gooseneck spout, which delivers an ultra-precise pour — perfect for controlling water flow during brewing.
It holds about 800ml, which is just right for single to double servings. The lid fits snugly, and the balance while pouring is exceptional. I use it on a gas stove, and it heats up quickly without any issues. Some might wish it were induction-compatible, but that’s a minor trade-off for the overall performance.
