  • IT COOKS AS GOOD AS IT LOOKS

This cooker allows you to enjoy better rice flavours from being able to cook over a direct flame, just like the traditional way.

The increased thickness of this rice cooker makes flame adjustment unnecessary, which is, frankly, the difficult part of cooking rice over a direct flame. The whistle at the top of the lid will let you know when to turn off the heat. Once it whistles, stop the heat and let it steam for 15 minutes. Using the steam heat stored in the rice cooker, under the glass lid, will draw out more flavours from the rice. Also, being able to see the rice cook is exciting and worry free!

  • HARIO Gohangama Glass Lid Rice Cooker - User Manual

    1. Rinse your rice and drain water with a strainer. Put rice into ceramic pot and pour in water to the appropriate indication line or pour in 200ml of water per 1 cup of rice. Note: Indication lines are only for reference, adjust water amount according to the type of rice, season, etc.
    2. Soak rice in the water for 30 minutes to 1 hour
    3. Cook rice with high heat for about 8-10 minutes. As soon as it boils to the point that you hear the whistle blowing sound or if you see bubbling inside the pot - then wait for 1 minute before turning off the heat
    4. Allow the rice to settle for 15 minutes and then serve

A little nervous buying this Japanese product from a coffee company. But it was shipped quickly and I gave it as a Xmas gift. My son in law loves it and it consistently makes great fluffy rice. Just right for their family of 4.

Great rice cooker

Who knew a ceramic pot could cook rice perfectly. The instructions that came with the box were in Japanese, but it's easy to find the English user manual on Hario's site. My son loves the whistle that it makes when the rice is ready.

Awesome rice pot

The thick base is excellent at gently cooking rice without burning the bottom. The whistle on the handle works well to let you know when to shut off the stove.
The size is on the large side for 2 people but is great if you need extra rice for lunch or a small family,
