The perfect for travel Hario Slim Hand Coffee Grinder has a new sibling. The Mini-Slim Plus is the transparent black version of the Slim, with a re-inforced grind shaft for an even more consistent grind.

This is the smaller, lower capacity ceramic burr grinder from Hario. Its thin, light construction and removable handle make it ideal for travel. The grind is fully adjustable via a locking nut on at the base of the burr (the bit that grinds the coffee), making it suitable for virtually any brew method, and coarseness is measured via clicks when turned.

The burr set is kept more stable by a spring that sits on the shaft, leading to a more uniform grind.

  • Capacity: ~24g
  • Materials:
    • Nylon Washer, Hopper Shaft Cover, Pin and Grind Adjustment Nut
    • Ceramic Inner and Outer Burr
    • Stainless Steel Shaft, Screw Section, Spring and Handle
    • Methacrylate Resin Cover and Bottle
    • Polypropylene Handle Grip, Center Cap and Hopper

Great to start with!

I bought this to be my first grinder. I really wanted something I could take apart and clean thoroughly. This is really easy to adjust as well. I count the number of clicks to remember my setting.

Hand grinding can be a workout but this works for me as I'm the only coffee drinker at home. I usually use 25g and it fits nicely. I could fit more. If I have to complain, I worry about being able to find more spare parts (Almost lost my spring once.)

Overall, a really good grinder at a really fair price and I would buy it again. Thanks, Eight Ounce!

The daily grind

Great 2 cup grinder, you can even turn it into an electric grinder with a battery powered screw driver and a 7mm socket if you have problems hand grinding!

Crank one out

This is my goto when I want to manually grind. Made of durable plastic that won't break or dent if dropped. Easy to clean and adjust from coarse to fine grinds. This is my third one. My 5 year ago grinder is at home, my 4 year old grinder is at the office and this one is going in the camper. Use an elastic to attach the removable handle to the side of the grinder body when storing, this will keep everything together in the cupboard, drawer or coffee bag.
