  • LUXURY IN EVERY WEAVE

Light, breathable, and quick-drying, the KINTO FUTO Waffle Cloth WCL (820x320mm/32.8x12.8in) is a graceful hand towel that's sure to elevate any kitchen or bathroom. Its waffle knit fabric is threaded together in a complex grid pattern, creating a structured softness and luxurious texture.

    A Storied Material
Each FUTO Waffle Cloth WCL begins in the Shiga Prefecture of Japan, not far from KINTO's headquarters, at the Asa Kogyo factory.
On the hot and humid coast of Lake Biwa, Asa Kogyo is one of the few facilities that still produce a traditional, high-quality linen called Omi Jofu. Today, the factory has over a decade of experience crafting luxurious fabric for clothing, bedding, and interiors.
Despite its long history as a hub for handwoven textiles in Japan, Asa Kogyo remains willing to adapt to new, innovative materials. A partnership with KINTO, who happened to be searching for an ideal place to develop its new FUTO line, fell naturally into place.
Such an exquisite blend of linen and cotton did not come easily; in fact, it required tireless prototyping, testing, and adjusting. Hard work finally paid off when KINTO discovered a fabric that was a perfect thickness and feel, with an intricate waffle pattern adding another layer of dimension.
FUTO Shiga had weaved into existence – an elegant base used to create a versatile, comfortable cloth, both lightweight and quick-drying to keep up with everyday life.

    One Cloth, Endless Uses
The same fabric is used for every variation of the FUTO Waffle Cloth WCL, allowing a significant cut-back on wasted material. Better yet, with four unique sizes, you can effortlessly coordinate a thoughtfully designed accent for every room in your home.

    Available in Three Natural Colourways
To preserve the waffle fabric's beautiful quality, Off-White and Natural colourways are left undyed, while "hank dying" is used for the Grey colourway – a method that involves immersing the yarn while maintaining its texture.
Off-White seamlessly blends into any space, Natural showcases the inherent colour of the linen, and Grey weaves together a spectacular interplay of black and white threads.

    Edged Finishing for Added Durability
All four sides of the FUTO Waffle Cloth WCL are finished with a wide, tri-folded design, with just the right amount of weight and structure. Made to use (and love) every day, this added structure protects the knit, ensuring it can be cherished for years to come.

    One of a kind
Destined for a lifetime of use, not the landfill, the Waffle cloth WCL is tagged with the FUTO logo using jacquard weaving, symbolizing the slow, traditional process that is required for its making.

  • Care

Machine wash in a laundry net on a gentle cycle up to 40°C (104°F). Do not use bleach. Do not tumble dry. Hang dry in the shade. Do not iron in order to preserve the fabric's texture. Do not dry clean. Very gentle wet cleaning is allowed. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or fluorescent light may cause fading. Due to the nature of the fabric, washing may slightly change the texture or cause shrinkage. Colour may fade or transfer due to water, sweat, or friction. Colour transfer may occur, so wash separately from other items. Do not soak for long periods as this may cause colour fading. Colour tone and shade may vary depending on production batch. Loose threads may appear from the fringe when first used; do not pull them, but trim with scissors.
