A VESSEL OF TRADITION, DESIGNED TO EVOLVE WITH YOU
Created in collaboration with award-winning ceramic artist Mr. Yutaka Ono, The Matzu Kaze Matcha Bowl Seto - Kannyu Sui embodies the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship. Each piece is stamped with Matsu Kaze on its base, a mark of authenticity and artistry.
The bowl features a kannyu (crackle) glaze in a serene pale green known as Sui—a shade inspired by jade and the feathers of kingfisher birds. Made from limited natural ash, the glaze produces delicate, translucent veins unique to every bowl. As tea seeps into the fine cracks, the bowl gradually develops character, becoming more personal with each use.
Because each bowl is handmade, slight variations in tone and gradation make every piece uniquely yours. This is not just a matcha bowl—it's a living canvas that grows richer with your tea ritual.

I am blown away by this chawan. I love the glaze so much. I made koicha and the matcha didnt stick on the bowl… it was guide right off! I love his work… this chawan is one of his cheapest bowl.
This matcha bowl (chawan) is the most stunning I have ever seen. The photo does not capture the luminous translucent crackle glaze and the subtle decorative carvings of the chawan artist. So gorgeous. It is the perfect shape with a slight inward curve at the top that harnesses the aroma and warmth. Holding the bowl with both hands, drinking Matsu Kaze’s matcha, I am comforted.
