BOOST HYBRID BREWING
The SIBARIST Booster 22 is a revolutionary way of brewing coffee, it is a tool to increase the extraction strength and the drawdown flow of your brews using V60s and the SIBARIST B3 HYBRID filters.
Since figuring out the hybrid cone/flat paper's optimal shape, the addition of the mesh disc was part of the combination – the mesh adds the contact points and flow rate you need at the bottom of the cone brewer. The rigidity of the paper, and the addition of the mesh mean you have more contact points and more even flow through the whole paper, and the hybrid cone/flat design give you a whole new taste over traditional cone brews.
The combo has been developed together with Matt Winton (2021 World Brewers Cup Champion) and is now his preferred setup to reach the best extractions ever.

HOW TO BREW USING THE BOOSTER
- Wash with soap and hot water before the first use.
- The Booster has three small tabs folded in an angle to help seating inside the conical dripper. Place the booster inside the dripper with the tabs downwards, ensuring that sits in a leveled and flat position parallel to the dripper bottom.
- Place a SIBARIST B3 HYBRID filter inside the dripper.
- Rinse the filter ensuring that the bottom of the filter is in contact with the Booster.
- Add coffee and brew.
HOW TO CLEAN
- Let the brewing set up cool down to room temperature.
- Remove the filter and the Booster from your dripper. Ensure that you have the Booster, it could be on the dripper bottom or stuck to the paper filter.
- Rinse it with hot water.

I've been using this booster with my glass v60 mostly out of curiosity about the impacts of brew times and draw down on flavour. It had a bit of a learning curve when it came to folding and dimpling the hybrid filters that go along with the booster.
In terms of taste, I first tried some brews using a coarse grind with a medium roast coffee - and it was quite unpleasant and underextracted. I did some looking up and tried with a lighter roast coffee and a finer grind and ended up with a bright and juicy cup that was delicious.
In my experience, the booster and hybrid filters made the draw down and thus brew time significantly faster, which had a positive effect for lighter roasts and finer grinds - but made my more medium and coarsely ground coffee not very enjoyable.
The Booster 22 noticeably reduces stalling by improving flow distribution at the filter base. Drawdowns are more even and predictable, with fewer sudden slowdowns caused by fines migration. It doesn’t change the flavor profile, but it makes extractions far more stable and forgiving. A genuinely effective solution for managing stalls rather than masking them.
