  • USE THE FORCE!

Winner of the Red Dot Award for outstanding Product Design, The Force Tamper is a stainless steel tamper with automatic levelling and configurable contact pressure. The levelling plate is self-aligning, meaning you can spend less time on your form and focus more on your shot. With impact-generated pressure, baristas can repeat the same tamping results with less effort and zero Jedi training.

      • Make sure the base is tightly screwed

      • Don't wash the tamper with water even though the tamper is made of stainless steel. The water in gaps will not dry out easily and that may make the fines stick

The best temper yet

I purchased this temper after trying it at the show room at eight ounce. After seeing the demo, I was very convinced that this temper gives you a very compact puck for espresso brewing to prevent channeling, so far I have been really impressed with this temper and will never go back to any other traditional temper.

Worth it

Amazing tamper - very easy and satisfying to use. The build quality is amazing (all metal and wood construction). The base and the handle are also replaceable. One complaint is that coffee grounds tend to stick between the two upper and lower discs, but it's super easy to clean with a brush and it only takes seconds. If you have a Breville Dual Boiler (or Oracle / Oracle Touch) with their stock 58 mm basket, then I recommend getting the 58.50 mm version of this tamper. It fits like a glove and does not create any vaccum effect (i.e. doesn't pull the coffee grounds back up which would potentially create channelling issues).

Great tamper!

I wish I would have known about this tamper months ago! I am a new home barista and this is the most useful tool I now own. 8oz Coffee recommended the 58.3mm size for me and it is perfect. Worth every penny!

Tamping limit

Used with IMS B652TH27.5M 18g portafilter basket, the TFT spring that triggers impact tamping does not engage when using coffee dose of less than 15.5g then it becomes a manual level tamper. Not sure if it's the same with TFT base size greater than 53mm. Just sharing the information.
