  • EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN A SCALE... PLUS MORE

The Black Mirror BASIC+ improves on the Timemore's excellent Black Mirror Basic. The BASIC+ won't accidentally get turned on or off, with the addition of a physical power switch. Its reconfigured, internals result in more reliable measurements in less time and texturized buttons allow for touch recognition in low light and differing orientations. Finally, a weight-detecting, auto-timer has been added to the BASIC+, reducing steps and improving workflow.

Great Buy

Everything you need nothing you don't.

Simple. Well designed. Sturdy enough.

Much to like here, but for all its formal ingenuity, there’s still room for improvement. The firmware seems a little slow to respond when taring back to zero. And when pressing on the taring button, lightly, the device suddenly feels cheaper than should be, at times lifting off its feet momentarily. It’s subtle, and might even seem superficial - I’ll surely overcome it. Ultimately though, a good scale for the asking price.

Good value

Awesome scale at a good price.

Only complaint would be auto mode is sensitive for taking weight off - if you stir or swirl your pour over after ~45s, the timer might stop (if you press the timer button quickly, it will resume, but still annoying.)

Just buy one

I have two of these, one of the older versions without a physical on/off switch, and a newer black one with the switch. I also have an acaia lunar and used to have a V1 pearl that died. I still prefer the lunar for espresso. However, the black mirror is worlds better than the pearl for pourover because it does 99% of the same thing as the pearl for a fraction of the price. The newer pearls have all sorts of crazy Bluetooth functions and stuff, which I've tested out before, and just don't see myself using. This also uses usb C, so I don't have to keep around any of those old fashioned micro usb cables. Just buy this scale instead of the others and spend the savings on some blue mountain beans lol.

Love this scale.

As a fledgling coffee-nerd, this scale exceeded all my expectations. It's very quick, responsive and through 4-5 months of daily use it hasn't yet needed a charge. It isn't an Acaia scale, but for the price you really can't beat it. I heartily recommend this scale to anyone looking for a reliable, budget-friendly coffee scale.
