Compatible with the deep basket of the Robot, this tamper features a precision cast and machined 304 stainless steel base with a tapered edge to prevent the vacuum effect when removing the tamper. The handle is made from aluminum and black, food-grade, Polyoxymethylene (POM) and centres the tamper in the basket, thereby ensuring a level tamp. Its leaf pattern allows air in so as not to suck the grinds back up. Both the POM and aluminum are CNC-milled to precise specifications and the entire tamper is held together by a custom-made 304 stainless steel stud.
Lightly tamp the coffee in the Cafelat Robot basket to evenly level the coffee grinds. Excessive pressure is not required.

I struggled to make an even puck with the stock tamper, so I decided to get this one. At first, I was thrown off by its price, but it has excellent build quality. The plastic is food-grade, unlike some DIY methods I’ve seen online that use tapes and 3D printers. I usually wary of mixing hot water and plastic or plastic residues.
I wish this came with the Robot, or was an option to upgrade. It is much better than the one that comes with the Robot.
More comfortable and accurate than the stock tamper.
