Produced by hand, the clarity of the blown glass and fine workmanship is unparalleled: undoubtedly one of the most recognizable and elegant coffee makers available. The Chemex was designed in 1941 and has been making delicious coffee ever since. Its non-porous, heat-resistant glass construction, combined with proprietary, scientifically designed filters, produces coffee with clarity and complexity.

Perfect Coffee-Maker

Simply put - you can't go wrong or get better. The handblown version is functionally the same, but I prefer the cleaner lines over the machine blown. The size is a bit on the large side for me - and I rarely fill it unless I am hosting a crowd, but the Chemex finds all kinds of other uses - such as a filtration apparatus, steeper, decanter etc. for which the size comes in very handy. Very happy with this product, and Eighounce for being one of the few to stock it :)

Very sturdy and beautiful dripper combo

I now have both the hand blown and regular Chemex 8 Cups, and I have to say as a fan of clean tasting coffee, Chemex seals the deal for me. The only downside of this vessel is its fragility compared to other plastic/ceramic drippers.
