50 years ago there were no streets or roads that could be taken to Finca Cruz Loma in the Pichincha province of northern Ecuador. The farm, founded by the grandfather of the current owner Grace Morales, is still surrounded by virgin jungle and is accessible only by two routes which cross on the summit.
Today, the varieties that flourish here are cared for by Grace and her family, with a focus on precise processing. This long fermentation Caturra micro-lot is part of their most recent offering, from trees planted just three years ago.
In the cup expect a deep fruitiness, with notes of blackcurrant, prune and orange rooibos.
