    ABOUT THE DECAF HUILA (COMMERCIAL)
    This coffee stands a good chance of redefining the way you think about decaf!

    This blend is part of a program of decaffeinated coffees that Azahar Coffee, our exporting partner in Colombia, developed this year in response to the unprecedented circumstances that arose during the global pandemic. As some of their high-scoring microlots had not found takers, they chose to experiment to create high-quality decaffeinated. This lot is produced by 7 coffee farmers from Huila, one of them being Gabriel Castaño who also produced one of our lastest arrivals.

    The decaffeination of this coffee was done in Colombia, at the Decafecol plant in Manizales. The method uses ethyl acetate from locally grown sugarcane as a natural solvent to remove the caffeine.

    This cup first strikes with incredibly sweet notes of marshmallow and brown sugar. It follows with a mild acidity reminiscent of apricot and sultana grapes as well as a creamy texture.
